6. Objectives GNPS has a very strong objective of improving the quality of life of the vulnerable children and orphans through providing education, giving care, love and support. To establish a well-equipped education centre with the relevant technology to promote a competitive edge in a fast paced globalizing world. The project is intended to foster a gender balanced education for all needy children thereby giving the girls an equal opportunity to go to school in order to have the successful future. The project emphasis on providing education to girls will help to eliminate early marriage among them thus reducing poverty levels. In addition, girl education will help to eliminate gender inequality and encourage a balanced distribution of income between males and females which will improve community development.

7. The overall aim of Greenfield Sustainability Project is to establish a well-equipped education centre with a sustainable environment thereby reducing on dependency burden on donor funds. The reason as to why we need to create sustainability in our school is to create income generating projects which can enable the school to have its income generated from the simple capital items especially the school van owned by the school. It is also crucial for GNPS to start and maintain the project of all Ugandan primary school levels for further education by the beneficiaries who are the needy and vulnerable. With this effect the sustainability project is to always support the school project financially when resources fall scarce. To establish a sustainable feeding program for GNPS.

8. Project Activities – The project under GNPS intend to put in place the following activities for the year 2020-2021 in order to achieve the stated objectives; i. Purchasing a school van for rent in the transportation industry and sustainability of Greenfield Kids Foundation Project ii. Establish a medical centre for the children equipped with medicines and health materials to ensure wellbeing of the children. The purchase of health materials and medicine will assist the sick children and staff sometimes. iii. To purchase scholastic materials including text books, computers, sports facilities, mattresses, beds, mosquito nets, teaching aids, bibles and furniture. iv. Kitchen construction. This will provide a clean environment for the children while getting their meals at school. A good kitchen well constructed ensures the best hygiene in the school environment.

9. Time Frame and Work Plan – The Greenfield Kids Foundation Project has been operating for 9 years with the little assets (land and buildings majorly) and other minor assets that are owned legally by the community to support the needy and vulnerable children in the area. Once the project administration starts carrying out the intended activities, the work plan will be as follows; upon receiving the requested funds for Greenfield Sustainability Project hopefully by 1st July 2020, the project administration will organize for the purchase of the school van to start on facilitating transportation services to the school children and staff. The van will further be hired by several transport companies who will be charged rent fares for project sustainability. From 1st August 2020 to 30th September 2020, the project intends commence the construction of standard kitchen to provide for clean, delicious food and clean boiled water. The responsible people on this are the director and project committee members. From 1st September 2020 to 30th March 2021, there shall be establishment of a medical centre for the children purchase of sanitation materials and health products like medicine to cater for the sick and first aid kits to provide for emergencies for the sick. The project director is arranging to hire a school medical practitioner who will be attending to cases related to sickness of the children.

10. Expected Results From the School Van – It is expected that the vehicle will be hired at least 4 times a month at a cost of $150 USD implying that it will generate $600 monthly. It is noted that a school term for Uganda’s education system lapses within 3 months, therefore it shows that the van hire will generate $1,800 in a school term. This amount will be sustaining for other school activities thus reducing the dependency burden. The project will aim at provision of quality welfare, quality education, skills training for children and the youth and promote enhanced organizational capacity, and building a strong financial resource base as well as establishing a sustainable feeding program for the GNPS The project expect to meet the expectations for the ever increasing needs of children and give them the opportunity to be live to their full potential and add value to humanity are career. The challenges have been many and the successes fulfilling.

12. Participation of the beneficiaries the project benefits the needy children and orphans from the communities around Rubanda District, Uganda. The fact that these beneficiaries are needy and vulnerable to high poverty rates, they do not take part in planning, management, implementation and evaluation of project activities. Therefore the project administration and staff mostly take part in running all activities of GNPS.

13. Cooperation and collaboration – The Greenfield Kids Foundation Project wish to collaborate with the community and various stakeholders from Uganda and outside Uganda including; v Sponsors, v Government whereby the project director will seek an operational permit given by the government authorities. v Non Government Organisations, v Volunteers.

14. Greenfield Kids Foundation Project’s director is proposing to purchase a school van which will be hired by transport companies. This will generate funds to sustain the school and reduce on the dependency burden on donor funds. The monies that are always obtained from bus hire is sometimes disbursed back to support the project. This will guarantee continuous running of the school activities whether there is a donation or not. It should be noted that Greenfield Nursery and Primary School do not receive any government financial support except matters relating to legal issues. The government, through application provides an operation permit to allow the project run legally in the community. The permit is allowed for 60 months after which it is renewed and this is a security for continuous operations.
